Malaysia’s First Ever Blogger MasterChef

Hi everyone! Have you heard? Masterchef will be coming to Malaysia! I bet by now you're already bored of hearing it and just can't wait for the show to start!

Since I cannot enter Masterchef Malaysia, I grab this golden opportunity to enter Blogger Masterchef.

For this particular competition I will be writing about my signature dish. Before I tell you what my signature dish is, let me tell you the story behind this signature dish.

Three (or four) years ago, my mom asked me to roast a chicken. We have this recipe called Honey Chicken. The taste of the chicken was soooooo good but when it is eaten with rice it will taste plain. So, I googled "rice that suits roasted chicken". Then, butter rice appeared. The recipe is basic and simple but it turns out very delicious and compliment the roasted chicken. From there, I improvised the basic recipe of butter rice and honey chicken to what I call...

Roasted Chicken with Butter Rice and Potato Salad ala Wawa~

So everytime people come to my house, I will serve them with my siganature dish. They will absolutely asked for the recipe afterwards.

The improvement I made for the recipe is what is so signature and original about it that you cannot get this recipe anywhere else except here! *I think so :p*

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First we will start with the roasted chicken. Why? because we need to marinate it for at least 1 hour so while waiting for it to be done, we can proceed with the rice and potato salad.

As you can see, we only need to go through 3 easy steps to make roasted chicken.

1. Prepare the ingredients:

Chicken, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, black pepper, honey, salt

2. Mix the ingredients in a bowl

3. Rub the mixture onto the chicken and marinate it for at least one hour. After that, pop into the oven for 1 hour at 190 degrees Celsius *I cannot find the symbol*
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Secondly, the butter rice. For butter rice we have to parts:
Part1

1. Prepare the ingredients:

1/2 cup of butter, garlic, shallots, chicken stock, salt

2. Melt the butter

3. Put in garlic and shallots until fragrant

4. Put in Chicken stock and salt

Part 2

1. Prepare washed rice (not in picture), 1/2 cup of green capsicum, 1/2 cup of red capsicum, 1/2 cup of bombay onion (another half cup will be use for potato salad)

2. Prepare water

3. Mix in part 1 with all the ingredient above in the rice cooker and pour water until water level reaches 4. Press cook.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Potato salad would be the easiest and simplest part!

1. Boil potatoes (I use about 8) and cut into wedges

2. Put in a cup of mayonnaise

3. Put in the left over capsicum and onion and carefully mix them. Use a flexible spatula if possible.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So there you have it,

P/s: Don't forget to put in the marinated chicken into the oven! ;)
